ANGELA CABÁN

​

Angela Cabán is an award winning decorative and fine artist, recognized in the United States and abroad, for her exquisite craftsmanship and attention to detail. After receiving intensive training in a full range of classical methods and materials, she is a specialist in a variety of applications, including, but not limited to murals, woodgraining, marbling, gilding, trompe l’oeil, and patinas. 

 

With a varied background as a former Broadway performer (she was in the closing company of CATS), an undergraduate degree in Fine Art/Restoration, and a doctorate in East Asian medicine, Angela came to the world of decorative interiors from a slightly unconventional direction. Combining these skills with an inherent love of surface pattern, she draws much of her inspiration from a wide array of sources such as historic patterns and textiles, museums collections, and historic interiors while also adapting them to modern tastes. Her work captures artisanal and painterly feel, where the hand-painted brushstrokes create her signature style that has its roots in the decorative painting of old. 

 

Working largely by commission with leading interior designers and private clients, Angela’s open-minded and inquisitive approach, practical knowledge, and passion for decoration bring the joy and magic of the hand-painted to every unique-collaboration.
